"The lazy man does not roast his game, but the diligent man prizes his posessions." v27 Finishing what you start...ouch. The idea of hunting and then not bothering to cook the meat seems ridiculous, but how many times do I start a project with enthusiasm, only to quit later? God, help me change.
that devotions are important. We all know we need to do them. But we forget. We get busy. We make excuses. We plan and swear we will do better...and then we don't. That's why we are here. To keep you (and me) accountable to daily time with the God who loved us enough to send his son to die on a cross.
How to participate
first, send me an e-mail or tell me in person you want to be held accountable on your devotional time.
next, each day visit the site and see the reading for the day. I'll also have the next day's reading available as well.
after finishing your devotions, comment on the day's blog so I know you're done.
when you comment, I would like you to use the "if it's true... then why don't I..." format. Tell me how you will be different because of your time with the Lord.
If I don't see you comment when I check in the morning, I'll send you an e-mail, or a MySpace comment, or however you are reachable to check in with you. Oh, and if you notice I haven't commented, well...you know what to do.
What would happen...
in your life if you were living truly, really, absolutely 100% for Jesus? If every waking moment you were aware of the presence of God? If you were so connected to your heavenly father that anything that was not glorifying to Him would be repulsive to you? If you lived in such a state of gratitude that a stranger could see it in your eyes? If you didn't need to try to evangelize, because you just can't shut up what God has given you inside? That is the true goal of this page. That is what my heart longs for. That is my prayer for each member of the Set Free Youth Ministry. That is what I want for each member of our church. What would happen...
